Dr. Leedia and Dr. Rashad Riman are siblings. They entered dentistry for the same reason most people do, and then spent years discovering what the industry had become.
Dr. Rashad spent his first decade in HMO and PPO practices, more than sixty of them, watching patients turn into billing codes and clinical judgment lose to what a plan would reimburse. Dr. Leedia’s turning point was more personal: a difficult pregnancy with serious dental consequences that her conventional training could not explain.
Between them they had seen both failures of the same system. One from the inside of the business, one from the inside of her own body.
They came very close to leaving the profession. Instead they started over.
